Making a character for SPNatI requires no prior artistic skills or knowledge of coding.
The art for characters, which includes their model and the poses that craft up their sprites, is made in a Japanese paper doll program called Kisekae, which is based on the K-On anime art style and was developed by a user named Pochi. Kisekae has both an online and offline version; the offline version is the one used with other SPNatI character creation software to make sprites. Pochi continues to update Kisekae with new features to this evening.
Many characters' sprites also use image editing and other forms of post-processing, such as Photoshop. Additionally, to save file space, character sprites are compr
Poker Night
Earlier this summer, I got invited on a bachelor party weekend to Las Vegas to gamble and ogle cheap strippers. Since everyone was straight except for me, I just decided to gamble the whole time. I started on the cheap quarter slots, but once I won a hundred dollar jackpot, I decided to live it up. Well, at least as much as I could on $137. I headed over to the nearest poker table, and over cheap bets, I slowly learned how to play. And I got addicted.

Thank You, Thank You, THANK YOU!!!
To everyone who purchased, played, shared, rated, tweeted, commented, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!
It's been a long two years and I apologize for the long wait between updates. Hopefully, that will change with the next updates.
The purpose of this post is to discuss some of my ideas for how I can move forward with this project while also addressing some of the choices that contributed to the massive delay.
Selectable Player Character
The single biggest criticism I received for the initial demo was the ghost-like player character. I can understand why it was alienating. I chose to address this by giving you the option to select 1 of 3 player characters with varied skin tones. While this was a wonderful learning experience, it was also a enormous hassle. Not only did it mean I needed to basically triple the number of rendered images, it also meant a much more difficult QA process and WAY more complex code.
Basically, I'm not sure it was worth the trouble. There's a chance I will have to erase t
