Such spaces allow for members of the community to support and engage with each other, to socialize and organize, to create connective relationships in which we are free to experiment with and to express our identities; to celebrate our commonalities and our differences, to exist with no fear of judgment, hostility or violence. These spaces include been, and will always be, imperative to the history and future of the LGBTQIA+ rights movement in the city.

Since , we've been building an active, social LGBT+ community in Hong Kong, connecting people, building long-term friendships, and creating a place of belonging by organising sport, fitness, outdoor and social events - open to all!

OUT in HK (OIHK) is a non-commercial group that welcomes and connects all members and friends of the LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) community in Hong Kong with an interest in developing a fit and healthy lifestyle. We organise and promote regular events that are active, social, and amusing. Activities include hiking, running, rock climbing, swimming, yoga, sailing, kayaking, bowling, trampoline bouncing, camping, force training boot camp, tennis, basketball, football, beach clean-ups (onshore and underwater), diving, volleyball, and badminton.

OIHK started in August and has grown to + members and counting. Based on its accomplishment, the group is replicated to OUT in SG, OUT in Taiwan, OUT in Thailand and OUT in Vietnam b

Hong Kong is renowned for its food scene. Back in , only 2 companies in the Fortune included LGBTQ+ people in their definition of diversity, not because they were anti-gay, but for one easy reason: No one had thought to update the policies since they were written. So Out Leadership took up the challenge.

In , Out Leadership published the first-ever LGBTQ+ Inclusive Board Diversity Guidelines for the United States so that any company that wanted to, could change its policy in ten minutes.

Since then, hundreds of companies have changed their policies.

The momentum ultimately led to Out Leadership helping the entire Nasdaq with its board diversity requirement in they even used Out Leadership&#;s data, analyze, and board mapping in their SEC filing. The proposal was fully approved in December and now requires all 3, Nasdaq-listed companies to have LGBTQ-inclusive board diversity. We have since expanded our policies to the UK and Australia.
