Gay art toons

So we had the ladies last week, now it’s the guys’ turn. Call me biased but, while composing the girls’ list was fun from beginning to end, this list made me feel… nostalgic. All these guys mean a lot to me, because I grew up with them. I loved or hated them even before knowing what ‘gay’ meant; and needed no one to out them for me. And most likely, neither did you. Just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the last 60 years (or your gaydar is more useless than mine) here is another arbitrary list of gay cartoon characters.
Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson (Batman & Robin)
A classic couple. Even those in hardcore denial hold a difficult time explaining why a millionaire bachelor keeps a bouncy acrobat as a sidekick, despite not having any discernible talent. You have to conceive Robin complaining to batman a la “I Love Lucy”: Bruce why can’t I be on the show? Bruce why can’t I be on the show? All right, all right, you can be a superhero too, now shut up and offer me some sugar.

Hey, um- I too affection comics with beautiful artwork, but I feel it is worth pointing out that
bl or queer stuff
is not a topic strictly speaking, anymore than a comic containing straight or cisgender people qualifies as a topic on its own? The reason why some creators describe their comic as queer at all is simply to point out that the story is centered around characters who are a part of the LGBTQ community, since we don't see a whole lot of representation in mainstream comics. This doesn't necessarily speak to the themes or narrative of the comic itself, anymore than every comic where the central characters are straight can be expected to revolve entirely around their attraction to the opposite gender?
So perhaps you can see how what might seem to you verb an innocent question can be interpreted as...well, rather differently, shall we say. If you are having trouble seeing what I mean, I suggest taking that sentence and substituting it for another group identity. If I were, for example, to utter "I would like to verb comics with
