Let’s clear things up: what is Gay Days, exactly?

To begin, let’s clear up a common misconception. Many online articles and blogs don’t correctly explain what Gay Days actually refers to. Even fewer add the full array of all there is to do during a Gay Days / Disney Pride event.

Let’s learn some swift history!

Since at least , LGBTQIA+ folks have been meeting up — via their own community-organized events — at Disney parks. They simply called it Gay Days.

The name stuck.

In the slow 90’s, an event organizer incorporated the name Gay Days Inc. and trademarked their URL. Today, they’re just one of many professional companies that hosts events, parties and meetups during various weekends in Orlando and Anaheim. Some are free and reveal to the public, others are ticketed and held in adj venues.

These events often overlap, so they compete a bit for visitors and attendees.

We&#;ve seen Pride merchandise pop up around Disney World, as well as extraordinary food offerings arrive in Disney Springs. And we&#;re about to see those iconic red shirts return to the parks soon, as Gay Days is returning to Disney World.

Disney World is included in the packed itinerary for Gay Days this month. The appearance of Gay Days in Disney World will hit off on June 2nd at Animal Kingdom! The event will take place from AM-8PM, and participants can explore the world of Pandora, see exotic animals, and ride attractions like Expedition Everest.

Then, on June 3rd, Gay Days will occur at Disney&#;s Hollywood Studios. From AM-9PM, attendees can check out Toy Story Land and Galaxy&#;s Edge, or &#;check-in&#; at the Tower of Terror.

Gay Days at Disney World and Universal

At least since the late s there was always two different groups organizing events around gaydays.
The Gaydays proper group that organizes the red-shirt day and has its host hotel (usually a smaller less fancy one).
and then the party group that labeled the weekend "One Mighty weekend" with another set of events and host hotel. The host hotel for this group used to be the Lake Buenavista Palace (now a Hilton I believe).
"One Mighty Weekend" used to organized the largest parties with thousands of people including the infamous party on Friday at Typhoon Lagoon.
Then there was even Parliament Home which at the time also had rooms and their hold set of events.
I went to One Mighty Weekend a couple of times and did all the parties, Typhoon Lagoon, the after hours, etc, etc. It was a blast.
